Call of Duty players are desperate for a free reward in Black Ops 6 that isn’t a new weapon, fresh character skin, or even double XP.

Over the last few years, Call of Duty has gotten deeper into the microtransactions and cosmetics side of things. The in-game store is always chock full of new bundles for weapons and character skins, and each new season comes with a brand-new battlepass to boot.

The increased focus on microtransactions has annoyed plenty of players, especially when the game is unbalanced, has a rather big bug plaguing it, or there is a new wave of cheats taking over. 

To balance these out, the COD devs will, at times, put several free bundles into the store. These often come with double XP tokens or new emblems. However, Black Ops 6 fans would like to see something different in there, and it’s not a massive ask. 

COD fans don’t want double XP tokens as free gifts

It was flagged again by Redditor ExtentGrand, who urged the devs to pack the free gifts with weapon charms and stickers rather than anything more extravagant. 

“Can y’all throw us a charm or sticker at least?” they asked, showing their disappointment with receiving another double XP token. 

“I miss the MW22 days when the free gifts would be calling cards and loading screens! As a big calling card collector, I loved it,” one player agreed. “Just a reminder that we used to get sick blueprints,” another pointed out. 

Others argued that the double XP token are more valuable for the wider fanbase. “They prolly see that most of the playerbase are not Master Prestige yet,” one argued. 

“I would prefer 100 COD points for a free gift…. That way the prices wouldn’t feel as extortionate,” another suggested.

It isn’t the first time players have registered this complaint either. So, if the momentum grows, the devs might have to take heed of the calls.
